Wash and associates defeat a tough jim couch team 69 - 67 to win the 2023 kenner summer league championship. both teams featured new georgetown university basketball transfers, with ismael massoud leading jim couch and rowan brumbaugh leading a. wash and associates to the final stage. brumbaugh, point guard for the hoyas, was awarded mvp of the game.

Wayne bristol jr., supreme cook, and jay heath of georgetown university also competed on the big stage. throughout the season, they all received multiple player-of-the-game awards. kenner league’s deep tradition with the georgetown hoyas shone through during the summer 2023 season, especially as the championship game came down to two competitive teams led by talented hoyas players.

2022 KENNER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

DARREN MCCLINTON ALL-STARS (DMAS) DEFEAT A. WASH AND ASSOCIATES 102 - 91 TO WIN THE 2022 KENNER SUMMER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. they ended the season 8-3 (7th in the 12-team league), catching fire during the playoffs. FORMER NBA PLAYER, VIRGINIA TECH ALUM, AND CURRENT CHinese basketball association player ERICK GREEN WAS AWARDED MVP. He FINished with 20 points, three rebounds, and three steals to lead his team to victory. DMAS also received solid contributions from european professional kameron taylor with a game-high 25 points, the university of maryland’s donta scott with 23 points, and duke university’s jeremy roach with 12 points.

although a. wash and associates finished 6-5 on the season (8th in the 12-team league), they made an elite run during the playoffs. bryant crawford of the european super league finished with 18 points and game-high six assists. Georgetown university’s bradley ezewiro put up 17 points, six rebounds, and two blocks while naji marshall of the New orleans pelicans led the team with 22 points and 7 rebounds.

during the game, a. wash and associates started off hot on a 29-12 run, but dmas came back stronger, ending the half on a 37-13 run to take a 49-42 lead going into the second half. erick green claimed the championship to be a huge accomplishment for his team and hopes to do it again next year. he was appreciative of the authentic, competitive basketball environment offered by kenner league that ultimately helps all of the players prepare for their upcoming seasons.
